Materials & comfort
Spray foam and the complete casita envelope.
ACB’s standard approach includes spray foam insulation. Its role is considered with the roof, walls, glazing, air sealing, ventilation, and heating and cooling system.

Ask where the insulation belongs
The project’s plans and specifications define the insulation locations, product, and assembly details. Ask the team to explain how the selected approach relates to the walls and roof rather than relying on a product name alone.
Look at the complete enclosure
Windows, doors, roof and wall assemblies, and the way different materials meet all contribute to the building envelope. Review these choices together, including how installation details are documented and coordinated.
Coordinate comfort systems
Heating and cooling, ventilation, and the building enclosure need to be planned as a system. The design should reflect the actual building, openings, and intended use. A material selection by itself does not establish the complete comfort strategy.
Review what the proposal specifies
Confirm which assemblies and products are included and identify any decisions still subject to final plans or selections. If you are comparing proposals, make sure the insulation scope and related enclosure work are described on a comparable basis.
Keep energy expectations realistic
Actual energy use depends on weather, the completed home, equipment, settings, occupancy, and operation. A specific insulation product does not create a guaranteed utility bill. Discuss the complete design and how the home will be used.
